Quality or Quantity to Grow My Travel Blog?
Quality or Quantity to Grow My Travel Blog?
Growing on social media as a travel influencer requires a lot of work and effort. It also needs a lot of engagement and interaction with your audience. However, most people, who are on social media, especially on Instagram, don't know whether to post a lot or post the right thing at the beginning of their career.
Growing on social media is like growing in any kind of business. It requires continuous efforts. Also, it requires momentum based on a plan.
What does that mean?
It means that at the very beginning, you have to understand who your target audience is because this understanding will lead to creating the right content. Does that mean that you don't have to post a lot at the very beginning? Absolutely not. You have to combine two main things: the right content and regular posting.
Here's why posting regularly is important, especially at the very beginning of your career on social media:
First of all, it's like owning a store. If you don't open every day and show new products regularly and seasonally, people will never notice that the store exists. This means you have to be there every day. You have to show up every day. And you have to share content very often. Makes sense, right?
Another reason beyond this is what we call an algorithm.
Posting regularly, targeting the right audience, and using the keywords that these guys use to find the content they want will create the right algorithm, which means that platforms like Instagram or TikTok will begin to understand the pattern and the rhythm of your work. It will start to push your content to the right people.
Let’s give an example. In the case of travel influencing related to luxurious travel details, you will use the right keywords such as fancy hotels and resorts, five-star services, luxurious restaurants, VIP transportation, private tours, etc. With the content that you make, you will show these luxurious details in the form of videos, images, and background music.
By posting these regularly and at the right time, you will create a pattern that Instagram, TikTok, or any other platform will understand. Particularly if your audience is engaging and interacting with the content that you are regularly sharing.
Now let's jump to the most difficult question that most social media bloggers, especially in the field of tourism and travel avoid answering fully.
What does it mean to share the right quality of content to the tourism and a travel audience?
Let's start with the topic itself. If you're sharing something of valuable information, surprising news, things with urgency, and secrets to reveal, then you have scored the first point of your high-quality content.
The next element is media.
Are you sharing high quality videos, pictures and stories? Are you sharing authentic media elements? Are you forming your media details in a professional way following the idea of grabbing the attention of your audience first, then moving to creating a desire to keep going?
A lot of questions that need to be answered regarding the quality of your media and the quality of your content.
The most important part that you need to understand of these elements is to be engaging and entertaining to a certain extent because people are on social media in the first place to have fun and, unfortunately, to kill time. So, what you need to understand is that you should never be too Educational. You’ve got to be entertaining at the same time.
Do I have to Post At a certain hour?
Posting should be done at the same time, not at an exact hour which means that you should avoid posting or scheduling your posts at exactly 8:00 am or 8:00 pm. This may sound crazy but it is true. The reason beyond that is that all companies and many bloggers schedule their posts like that which makes a heavy load of posts being shared at the same time and that is where many travel influencers lose. You can make the posting within the period that your audience is active in like 8:20 or 8:25 instead.
Another important note you need to keep in mind is that your audience is not exactly at the same time every day on social media. They are in the same period though.
What does that mean?
It means no one is checking their social media at exactly 7:00 Every morning. Sometimes it's 7:15, sometimes 7:20 but The algorithm tells you that they check their social media between 7:00 and 9:00, which means that having things at 7 exactly will never be that recommended or effective.
In the end, everything is related to your audience and the test of the content that you are going to share which means you will discover the details of the algorithm and the details of your audience and their level of engagement at certain Times. That will lead to understanding When to post? What to post, what grabs the attention of your audience, and what type of media you should concentrate on.
